Giant freshwater fish, monstrous catfish, gar, and pike, grow to alarming size in deep, slow waters. The giant catfish is a bottom-feeding bulk that gulps down anything it can fit in its cavernous mouth, including a swimmer. The needle-toothed gar and ambushing pike strike with sudden, savage lunges from cover. All are powerful swimmers and aggressive predators of anything that enters their water.
