The horse and its kin, heavy draft horses, riding horses, ponies, and stubborn mules, are the backbone of travel, war, and labor. Broad-chested and long-legged, they pull ploughs and wagons, carry riders for days, and trample foes when driven to it. War-trained mounts are bred for nerve and bulk, able to bear an armored rider and strike with iron-shod hooves. Most horses flee danger, but a trained or cornered animal kicks and bites with surprising force.
Behavior
- Live and move in herds, following a dominant leader
- Bolt from predators, fire, and sudden noise unless trained against it
- Defend with kicks from the hind legs and stamping forehooves
- War and draft breeds tolerate burdens, crowds, and combat after training
Abilities
- Hooves. Powerful kicks and stamps that can crack bone.
- Endurance. Carries riders or loads over long distances at a steady pace.
- Trample. A charging or panicked horse runs down anything in its path.
