Smallest and dimmest of the great dragons, the white dragon is still a terror of the frozen north. Its mirror-bright scales glisten like fresh snow, leaving it near invisible against the ice until it lunges. Slow-witted, savage and ruled by the appetite of the moment, it hunts seals, bears and lone travellers across glaciers and frozen hills, then buries its kills in snowbanks to freeze before eating. It cannot match its greater cousins in cunning or sorcery, but its frost breath and tireless pursuit through ice and water make it a deadly regional predator, a manageable yet lethal first "true dragon" for hardened adventurers, and a rich source of cold-proof scale and trophy fangs.
Behavior
- Flies, walks and swims; runs surefooted across glare ice
- Hunts by ambush, blending into snow before charging
- Spends its frost breath early, then claws and bites
- Pursues fleeing prey relentlessly, even into freezing water
- Hoards gems and frozen meat in ice-coated caverns
Abilities
- Frost Breath. Exhales a cone of bitter cold; a partial dodge halves the damage.
- Cold Immunity. Unharmed by ice and freezing weather.
- Ice Walking. Crosses glare ice and deep snow without slipping.
- Snow Camouflage. Its glistening hide hides it against white terrain.
- Flight. Leathery wings bear it swiftly over arctic wastes.
